Now Its Time for Me to Actually Do Something

So, I'm guessing all the people who are reading this through the powerofwords link know this, but just so the rest of the world is aware, I am attempting to write a novel!!

November, as many of you know, is National Novel Writing Month in the U.S. Also known as NaNoWriMo. The goal is to write 50,000 words in the month of November, and I am, at this point, an embarrassing 17,465 words behind. However, this is also the longest piece I've ever written. I am rather proud of it.

If anyone has read those crazy fanfics I wrote about my friends, its along those same lines. If you haven't read those, go onto Fanfiction.net, author search 'A. R. Tinromen' and read them. Do it! NOW! Ok, and if you're going to be a loser and not doing what I explicitly ordered you to do, well, sucks to be you! My point is that the novel is about myself, Coral, Franzi, Michael and Rachel from those stories. The only difference is that it somehow ended up being completely serious. (I really have no idea how that happened). My other friends Tabitha and Mickell also ended up in it. Its actually quite epic. The Russian Mafia is involved and everything.

I also added the soundtrack to the novel in place of the old playlist. Take a listen, especially to the song 'Only the Young' by Brandon Flowers... I'm in love...

Ahahaha! (Also known as things that make me happy)

I suddenly feel just a little bit awesomer than I did ten minutes ago. This is because I looked at the Stats tab.

I thought that everyone had stopped reading Blogger because apparently Tumblr is so much more awesome. I guess I can see the reasoning there, but I still personally like Blogger. But hey, apparently I'm not alone in the Blogger love. Can we say 8 page views since I posted the last blog!! I am nearly delirious with happiness right now... Its like the reverse end of the world.

Now since I'm here, I think I shall tell you some of the other things that make me happy:
  • Getting things in the mail. I just love getting things in the mail. I don't know why, but there's something really special about receiving something in your mailbox that is actually for you and not spam mail.
  • Sweater-dresses... I also love sweater-dresses. A lot of people think they're ugly, but I quite enjoy them. Especially when they have the awesome fold-over collar.
  • Music. This seems so normal and mundane, but its true... Music makes me happy.
  • My History class. Especially when we're talking about John C. Calhoun, Andrew Jackson or Cheese (Democracy). You kind of have to be there to know what I'm talking about.
  • Random crap. I think the rest of the world kind of falls into this category. But I find it especially amazing when it works out in ways like MLIA (mylifeisaverage.com) and Unrelated Captions (.com)... Makes my life totally worthwhile...

What Happens When You Drink

So, I was talking with Taz this summer, and we have decided something that I find rather scary.
The way that a person drinks Mountain Dew as a young person dictates what sort of alcoholic they will be when they reach adulthood. This actually may not be completely confined to Mountain Dew and might include all sorts of pop... But not SanPelegrino  because that is just like fizzy lemonade. Besides, San Pelegrino means "saint shaves the rat" in Italian, who'd want to drink a crazy thing like that??

But, this unfortunate fact (the pop one, not the Italian rat one) has come to show me that I will probably be an alcoholic, and Taz will social drinker... This could be and issue...

Discoveries

So far this month I have made many interesting discoveries. Here is the list.

1)Sports coaches wield an amazing amount of magic power. For instance, if you tell a coach that you are sick to get out of practice, you will actually get sick. Its their way of thwarting any fun you might have had outside of practice.

2)Mariah is a ninja-superhero. I have actually been aware of this on some level for awhile now, but now we are apparently going to save the world together dressed in neon spandex. Apparently I have amazing superpowers attributed to squirrels... Go me!!

3)There are people reading this blog in Malaysia, Croatia and France. This was big news. I actually bothered to go onto the stats thing and found out. I have no idea who you guys are, but I love you. I don't know what I did to warrant the attention, but thanks!!!

4)Writing westerns sucks. Louis L'Amour makes it look so easy! What's worse is that its for school (yuck), and has to be less than 1,000 words. I don't know how I'm gonna do this. I don't know if you all have noticed, but I tend to have trouble staying focused and short. Also, the class was given way over-specific parameters on how to write the story. Our teacher seems to be looking for a super stereotypical type of story that clearly died in the 1950s with the dawn of the television.

5)There are Amish vampires. I kid you not, Amish vampires. If you don't believe me, then go read "The Last Sacrifice" by Richelle Mead. I seriously thought we were gonna get a badass Amish vampire battle sequence in the Corn Palace, but nooooo....

6)I am addicted to music. This is the truth, I simply cannot live without it. Whether its the amazingly moving soundtrack piece we are playing in Orchestra, angst-filled 30 Seconds to Mars, or happy tunes from musicals, I just can't get enough. My current favorite is "Everybody Says Don't" from the musical Anyone Can Whistle. If you haven't heard it, then go look it up. My favorite is the Barbra Streisand version from the album "Back to Broadway". It captures how I would like to live my life. Its something I need to work on. I have added more songs to that amazing music player, but have yet to update it. Somebody should annoyingly comment and tell me to do so.

7)This is the last one, but I'm not gonna say much.

Just watch it, people.

Shower Thoughts and ManBearPigs

So, Taz requested that I blog about my thoughts in the shower, since all shower thoughts must be epic. I actually haven't showered at home in a whole ('cause of swimming), so I will go do that and come back in a moment...

So, today in the shower, I was thinking about psychology... and bank robbery. As far as the psychology bit goes, I was thinking that there are a few fundamental things that drive almost every decision we make. These are (from my point of view) the desire to be loved or accepted, the desire to be in control (which sometimes falls under the desire to be loved, but not always) and the desire to simply survive. These all govern our actions, whether we are consciously thinking about them or not.
The desire to survive is the strongest of the three. It goes back as far as can be remembered and possibly farther. It includes things like "eat, breathe, sleep, stay warm, reproduce" etc. The desire to be loved came after that. When people realized that other people make life easier and more interesting, they wanted to be with people more. Eventually that want became so integrated in lifestyles, that it is almost as important as food or sleep. There are many fascinating pieces of literature about people going crazy from lack of loving human contact, go look them up. The desire to control stems from either the desire to survive or the desire to be loved, but not both. If it stems from the desire to survive, then it is a defense mechanism against perceived faults in the ability to take care of oneself. If a person feels weak, then they put on a show to make themselves look stronger. Like guys showing off in front of girls because they are afraid of being seen as immature, stupid or "geeky". If the desire to control comes from the desire to be loved, then it is formed by lack of received love. If a person is never given love, yet still craves love, they will try any means possible to get love. This where prostitution and other things of that nature come from as well. Someone who is controlling from lack of love thinks they cannot be truly loved so the make other people obey them as a substitute. Its as though they try to force people to love them, and hurt people when they don't.

End of psychological rant.

I don't really remember the contents of the bank robbery thoughts, but that's a good thing. Somebody might actually think I'm serious.

Aimee asked that I post the ManBearPig story on here as well. We all got bored at the Christmas assembly (because our school is stupid), and then the principal made us go back to class afterward. An inconceivable thing that had not happened in the course of time until then. What stupidity!!
Anywho, enjoy! (Warning: not for those who cannot enjoy randomness or those with heart problems):

I was just thinking that I would do something a bit out of character for me and talk about something deep on here... what do y'all want to hear about? (and if no one replies, I'll be super depressed)

Why Is the Demise of Electronics so Epic?

Has anyone noticed that when a phone breaks its not "broken" its "dead". A computer doesn't "break"; it "crashes". When an iPod runs out of batteries, it "dies". Why is this so much more epic than other ordinary objects??? Its not like they were alive anyway!!!!

I just saw Kaylyn and Jen's yearbook pictures, they are sooooo cute! They're both all smiley and happy!! And they are both probably gonna kill me for saying that, but it had to be said.

Today is a good day. Franzi gave me chocolate (really really really good chocolate), and my secret Santa gave me cheese and dew! I would like to give the person who invented dew a hug. Dew is the most epic thing ever. Except I'm gonna get fat 'cause everyone is giving me food. I wish my parents'd be a little less concerned with my weight, because I really don't care since I'm not legitly fat. Besides, its Christmas... BRING ON THE FUDGE!!
On the subject of which, I might be making fudge over break. YUM! I also really want to go to the new Chronicles of Narnia movie during break *hint hint*. We might go cross-country skiing over break, but Emma Foster has to come since I said we'd take her last year, but we never went. I love cross-country skiing. Its so much more relaxing than downhill. If anyone wants to go, let me know & we can make it a party!!!

*Gasp* MUSIC!!!!

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but there is a magically delicious music player thingy on the side of my blog now!!!! Don't listen to some of them if you dislike rap, sorry about that. My song selection is a bit odd, but, ya know what? GET OVER IT! That is just how I roll =). Btw, Sky Sailing is Owl City before he was Owl City. Nolan showed me that song.

I love the snow we have going on around here. It totally made my life. That & the fact I got a box fruit snacks from my secret Santa. I think that may make me an odd muffin again.

So, Allie woke me up 4 times last night, and she says I'm annoying. O goodness...

It just occurred to me that, because I have the playlist thingy on the side, I no longer need to post links to youtube movies of songs. Boy am I smart! *facepalm* Anyway, like I said before, check out Sky Sailing 'cause he's cool... and also 30 Seconds to Mars, because Jared Leto is AmAzInG! 30 Seconds to Mars also has really cool music videos, my favorites are 'From Yesterday' (even though its slightly creepy), 'Kings and Queens', and 'The Kill'.

Do -You-Ever-Wonders and What ifs

Do you ever wonder...

...what would happen if Edward bit Tourette's Guy and turned him into a vampire?

...who came up with the word 'cup'?

...why we call people with red hair 'ginger' but the actual ginger plant is brown?

...why the Backstreet Boys went out of style?

...why all cartoon programs suck nowadays?

What if...

...Karl Marx was directly responsible for artificial life?

...the invention of soft drinks involved librarians?

...the fall of the Inca Empire happened after the invention of soft drinks?

...Marilyn Monroe was killed by King Arthur?

...Aristotle was indirectly responsible for the AIDS crisis?

...the fall of Satan involved force fields?

...the Spanish Inquisition involved genetic engineering?

...Caeser switched places with Jack the Ripper?

...Montezuma was connected to Finn Mac Cumhail by a secret bloodline?

These are the things that keep me up at night... along with the fact that my sister found a sock in her pocket during Mass this morning. Please tell me what you all think!

Just an Idea

All of the blog titles up to now have something to do with violence, death or anger...
Does this say something about my character?
